Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is a non-governmental organization based at the Bronx Zoo in New York City, with the goal of conserving the world’s largest wild places in 14 priority regions.

WCS selected ICA and QAlified to carry out the development and testing of various GIS components and their maintenance. This system is called Impact Platform Mapping Component. The GIS components seamlessly integrate with the Content Management System (CMS). This integration allows for accurate and detailed visualization of maps and geographic regions worldwide. It also facilitates the placement of various points of interest and access to georeferenced and environmental information related to these points.

Scope

QAlified conducted functional and integrated testing on various components of the Impact Platform Mapping Component. This process involved thorough validations across different layers of the application.

Specific test cases were meticulously designed and executed for each functionality. All detected issues during this process were accurately documented and recorded in the Mantis tool, enabling effective tracking and timely resolution of problems.

Furthermore, recognizing the importance of accessibility and user experience, compatibility testing was carried out across popular browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. This step ensured that the platform functioned optimally, regardless of the browser chosen by users.

Technologies and tools
