Scope

Helpful Heroes launched a new version of its mobile app, introducing key improvements in provider selection, payments, and repeat service requests, all aimed at enhancing the experience for both customers and service providers.

Before the release, it was essential to validate the proper functioning of these enhancements on iOS and Android devices, anticipating potential issues under real usage scenarios.

QAlified supported Helpful Heroes in validating this new version, focusing on critical features such as the ability to shortlist up to three providers per request, display provider profiles with photos and history, repeat previous bookings, new payment flows with pre-authorizations and detailed fee breakdowns.

We also ensured consistency between the customer and provider apps, maintaining a smooth and coherent experience across both.

Testing efforts focused on verifying that these features behaved as expected across a diverse mobile ecosystem, minimizing risks prior to deployment.

Activities performed

  • Functional validation on Android and iOS devices, as well as the customer-facing web application.
  • Payment system testing, including scenarios involving partial holds and dynamic pricing.
  • Exploratory testing aimed at identifying unexpected behaviors and improvement opportunities in key flows.
  • Usability and user experience evaluations to ensure intuitive, clear, and consistent navigation across the apps.

Tests were conducted on Android and iOS devices, combining controlled test cases with exploratory scenarios, and including behavior checks based on geographic configuration settings.
