Brightwell Navigator is a web and mobile platform for financial management and salary payments to workers on an international level. It allows for transfers, deposits, and other financial transactions from anywhere in the world to over 140 countries. Its main clients include major cruise companies, such as Carnival Cruise Line, and their crew members who use the Navigator platform from onboard to manage their financial activity at any time.
Scope
QAlified was selected to carry out testing activities associated with the development and maintenance of their platform, working continuously on each new release.
Testing activities are integrated into the development cycle based on agile methodologies, supported by the Microsoft Azure DevOps tool.
Key tested functionalities include international transfer sending and receiving, payment of services through payment gateways, creation, activation, and blocking of electronic accounts or wallets, and authentication through facial recognition, among others.
For each new version, various functional tests are conducted at the component, integration, and system levels for both iOS and Android mobile applications, as well as the associated web components (front-end and back-end) and their REST API services.
The testing process includes multiple stages and activities throughout each sprint, starting with feature testing of new or modified functionalities. Regression testing cycles are then performed at the system level to ensure that no new errors have been introduced in the version, followed by smoke testing cycles in production environments to validate the functioning of the system’s main workflows.

Results
- The testing process was implemented during the development cycle, applying multiple levels of testing with over 200 test cases executed per release.
- Tests were conducted to ensure compatibility across different mobile platforms, browsers, OS versions, and device models.
- Collaboration in the integration testing of the product with different international payment platforms such as VISA, MasterCard, MoneyGram, Bancorp, Western Union, among others.
- As a result of the new releases, Navigator conducts international transfers with over 180 countries.
