The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay is the State Secretariat responsible for the administration and strengthening of Uruguay’s treasury. One of its executing units is the General Accounting Office (CGN).
MEF-CGN carries out the development and ongoing evolutionary maintenance of various critical systems for the country, such as the Integrated Financial Information System (SIIF).
Scope
The Integrated Financial Information System (SIIF) is one of the main systems that allows the integration of different components of fiscal policy, resources, expenditures, and financing. Its objective is to streamline, improve, and modernize the country’s financial work processes, provide quality information for decision-making, and ensure transparency in public administration.
QAlified provides various quality assurance and software testing services for different systems implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uruguay.
The work included evaluating the quality of new system evolutions through functional and non-functional testing, as well as conducting load testing, performance testing, usability testing, and security assessments.
In addition, QAlified contributed to evaluating quality attributes in new reference architectures and defining testing processes with their respective assets. User acceptance testing training was provided for several systems, and automated testing was implemented to accelerate the regression testing process.

Results
- As a result of various software quality consultancy instances, standards were established regarding testing processes and their associated assets, which now serve as a foundation for new projects.
- The tests conducted on different systems ensured the level of quality of the solutions provided by MEF to various government agencies.
- Collaboration with the MEF-CGN IT team has allowed for the release of new versions of the systems and technological updates without impacting MEF's operations.
